Ricardo Uauy

Dr. Ricardo Uauy is MD from University of Chile (1972). Trained in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital Boston (Harvard University) and later in Neonatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital (Yale University). He received his Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1977.
Dr. Uauy was awarded with the National Award for Applied Science and Technology in 2012.

His current research interests are: The role of nutrition in neural and essential fatty acids in human brain development. The health risk associated with deficiency and excess of copper, the protein and energy needs of health and disease, chronic diseases related to diet and and the role of physical activity on the risk of cancer.
